Metropolitan Works draws on a long history and outstanding reputation in skills training, being based within the former London College of Furniture, and Sir John Cass Faculty of Art and Design.

Skills courses for designer makers and manufacturers in furniture, and silversmithing and jewellery, are being developed and run according to demand.

We offer a growing number of CAD (Computer Aided Design) courses, a key tool for designers wanting to develop their ideas and translate them into production files for digital manufacturing. Bespoke CAD training can also be arranged.

Taster courses, often provided free to Metropolitan Works members, teach an appreciation of different technologies, and how to prepare work before bringing it into the Digital Manufacturing Centre for production.
