Do I have to be a member to use the facilities?
Yes. Metropolitan works is a membership organisation, with public funding to support business in certain areas of London. Your membership will give you an account to which we can allocate any additional benefits and discounts on services. A few introductory events and some seminars do not require membership.
How much does it cost and how do I become a member?
Metropolitan Works membership is now completely free and gives you a range of benefits, including an account which will have a discount code dependant on your type of business and location. To find out what discounts you are entitled to please fill in a membership application form which you will find in the membership area. We will advise you what discounts you are entitled before you commit to joining.
How do I access the digital facilities?
The Digital Manufacturing Centre operates a Bureau Service through which your work will be carried out by our technical staff. You cannot to operate the machines yourself, but you can find out more about them through the resource area of this site, during the Centre’s open days and through advice sessions. Members are entitled to one free, hour-long advice session, which can be booked through the website. Additional consultations can be purchased for a supplementary fee of £25 per hour.
How do I access the traditional manufacturing facilities?
We have traditional workshops mainly for furniture, silversmithing and jewellery. These workshops can be accessed through our Pay&Go sessions which run periodically throughout the year.
The traditional facilities in metal fabrication, polymers, spray finishing, and upholstery can be accessed by special arrangement with our Bureau Desk.
